What Makes The Vintage Tent Company Tents Different.

What Makes Our Tents Different?

Asking what makes #TheVintageTentCompany tents different is like asking what makes a Rolls Royce different to a standard family car. We have identified everything that is wrong with standard, cheaper #belltents and fixed it in our pro range of #luxurytents.

The Zips

Many companies that sell bell tents, even if they sell as a premium brand, cut costs by offering cheaper tents by having low quality zips- This comes at a price. If your zip fails at the beginning of a camping holiday there really is nothing you can do aside from buy a whole new tent. Even some of the most expensive bell tents on the market still have sub-standard zips that break easily.

All our bell tents have #YKK zips fitted which are considered the best on the market. We place a lot of value in returning customers so we certainly don’t want our tents failing at the first hurdle like so many others do.

The Pockets

If you have ever been camping in a particularly dark place you will appreciate how hard it is navigating your way around a tent - even with a torch. Finding small items like keys and mobile phones can feel near on impossible. (Or if like me, you have packed your tent away and resized the keys are still in the tent. You will find two pockets in all our tents so you can keep valuables safe and sound.)

The Toggles

Cheap, plastic toggles are another addition to a tent that you do not really think about until something goes wrong. While you are unlikely to have thought about it if you are lucky enough to have plastic toggles that have survived more than one trip - if you have had one break you know what a nightmare it is.

The Vintage Tent Company use long lasting, wooden toggles on all our pro bell tents much like the original and best design. Not only for functionality but also because they look ten times better than plastic ones.

The Zippable Electric Hookup Flap

As much as you might want to get back to nature there is still probably going to be the need for an electric hook up. You will have noticed that most bell tents are all made from one large piece of material, so where does that leave your hook up wire going? Through the door!

As this could let in all manner of other things that will make you feel like you are on a bush tucker trial, we have a specialised flap for the electrical hook ups. This will make sure you can get your wire through without letting anything undesirable in or out.

The Flue Hole

There is nothing like camping with a fire in your tent. If you want to extend your season and be all roasty toasty and have a wood burner in your tent! Then you will need a hole for the flue. Unless you are an expert in sewing and you make it yourself, which will take you hours and hours. Plus, you will need to find the matching #canvas for the cover. We have done all the hard work for you. We have designed it with high quality cover so it still looks luxurious when not in use.

The Ropes

Another place where some tent companies tend to cut corners. The ropes may sound like a small part of the process but they are what is keeping your tent in your position.

Some camping companies cut corners here, but we use the highest quality ropes on offer.

The Canvas and Mesh

One of the main ways of ruining what could be perfectly good bell tent is using poor quality canvas, or even worse a different material all together coated in plastic. The materials used some #belltents do not let the tent breathe, and the material will leak and look so creased it is unsightly.

Our bell tents only use the best quality 100% cotton canvas. The canvas is the part of the tent that keeps you safe from the elements and it certainly isn’t somewhere we are prepared to compromise our quality. Other materials are likely to become sweaty, damp and smelly without room to breath but you can be sure our breathable material keeps your #tent fresh, light, airy, and most of all #comfortable. As for the mesh, we have also made sure the mesh we use is colour coded to the tent and is of the highest quality we can find.

The Bag

If you have ever rolled up a particularly hard to pack away tent then you will appreciate that the bag really can make the decision on what tent to buy. It’s all fun and games at the start of the holiday but when you come to go home, the kids are tired. The last thing you need is the added hassle of a tent that just does not want to go in the bag.

The Vintage Tent Company do not believe in ruining the last day of our customers’ holiday just to save some money. Our tent bags are now 20% bigger. So, if you haven’t got the perfect roll you will still be able to pack away quickly and easily and be the envy of your fellow campers who are currently experiencing tears and tantrums trying to get their tent in it’s bag.
