Our Best UK Family Campsites - Avon Tyrrell
What could be better than camping in the New Forest with the kids?

Based in Hampshire, Avon Tyrrell is a 65-acre listed site and the home of the charity UK Youth. UKY is a wonderful organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged young people through learning and development.
Avon Tyrell provides outdoor learning activity programmes for school and other youth groups.
However, it is also open to families as an amazing camping setting. Their facilities are fantastic with 6 camping areas, a cafe, reception, shop, fire pits, wet weather shelters, woodlands, a children’s playground, a bouldering wall (free to use) and on-site bike hire. Plus, of course, hot water, showers, toilets and washing up areas.

However, apart from being in the heart of the magical New Forest with the family, what makes Avon Tyrrell unique are the amazing adventure activities on offer. Find your way through their Tree-Top Trail or head to the Fishing Lake for Kayaking or Paddleboarding. Learn as a family with lessons in Archery, Pioneering or Bushcraft skills. Or work as a team to complete their Adventure Course. A stay at Avon Tyrrell is so much that a camping trip. It’s a fun-packed outdoor experience providing great opportunities for exercise in the fresh air and precious family time together. What’s more, Avon Tyrrell is a non-profit and so any additional income made through the campsite goes back into funding the UK Youth charity. These are just some of the reasons why Avon Tyrrell, for us, is one of the best UK family campsites for active families.
